IAN LANCASTER - Background

A dual-national citizen of NZ and UK, Ian was born in England and spent much of his early life in Nyasaland / Malawi (Central Africa), before moving back to UK / Europe in the late 1970’s. Ian attended both intermediate and high school in England, later graduating from the University Of East Anglia (UEA) in 1979, with a Bachelor of Arts (BA) Honours Degree in Development Studies.

Ian married his NZ partner Keriann in Melbourne Australia in 1984. He has two children: a daughter who has a double-degree from VIC University (Wellington), and a son at at Massey University, where he is studying for a BTech (Teaching Degree).

A seasoned professional Ian spent over 20 years in senior Sales / Marketing & Business Development management roles, working for industry-leading companies in the International Oil & Gas Pipeline-Construction sector. During this time Ian has travelled extensively worldwide: throughout Europe, Africa, the Middle East, North & South America, Russia & Former Soviet Union, India, Pakistan, China, Hong Kong, Australia & NZ ….with a primary focus on the South East Asia & Australasian regions.

Ian joined the Real Estate profession in “The Bay” during 2005, achieving an impressive NZ$8+ million of residential property in sales during his first 12-month period ... leading to his early entry into the elite GOLD CLUB in 2006. In his second year his annual-sales topped $13m value, ensuring retention of his prestigious GOLD CLUB status in 2007... a feat he again repeated in 2008 + 2009 + 2010 after several particularly challenging years (during which residential property “sales volumes” have reduced dramatically).

At 2010 year end IAN was also very proud to have been nominated the No.1 ranked sales agent for LEADERS Bay Cities Ltd (Hawke’s Bay) & winner of the highly-coveted “Supreme Award”, for his outstanding contribution to LEADERS.

Ian brings to his business a worldly knowledge and proven inter-personal skills combine with a strong ability to NEGOTIATE. He easily interacts with individuals from all ethnic backgrounds and all walks of life, reaching agreement between the Seller and Purchaser (where other agents may have failed in the past). Ian’s ability to successfully negotiate is a truly vital attribute for any real estate agent!
